Concierges' Choice: Gateways & Getaways Programme

In spring 2005 the IH&RA will launch a new website on which it will feature a section entitled "Concierges' Choice" to spotlight a limited selection of world class hotels & restaurants in "gateway" cities and "getaway" resorts worldwide.

This Concierges' Choice "Gateway and Getaway" program will see the return of the grass-roots of the industry - individual hotels and restaurants - to the IH&RA family.

OBJECTIVE
To ensure that IH&RA remains in touch with hoteliers and restaurateurs at the grassroots level so that IH&RA is current on all issues, active or passive when necessary, and can formulate a global opinion with rapid response and on-line voting.

HOW IT WORKS
Individual hotels and restaurants, whether independently owned or chain-affiliated properties, will be nominated to the programme by their respective national association. Membership of the national hotel or restaurant association is a pre-requisite. Chain-affiliated properties in gateway cities will be included provided the Chain is an IH&RA member.

The nominated establishment will be invited to join the Concierges' Choice Programme with an official "Charter Invitation" sent from the IH&RA Board of Directors outlining benefits.

Membership in the Concierge Choice Programme includes such benefits as:
- Profile through Concierges' Choice, on the IH&RA website in 2005
- A voice on the global stage through the "Independent" Hotel or Restaurant Board member.
- Networking with & special offers from suppliers
- An affiliate plaque to display at property
- An initial one year induction into the Green Globe certification program
- Recognition as a hotel of international stature
- Hyperlink from www.ih-ra.com to the hotel / restaurant website
- Member rate at Annual Congress
- Priority to host IH&RA Meetings (Board, NACE, Chains & Global Councils)
- Privileges between members (i.e. employee privileges) at off-peak periods
- Energy Audit from Shell LPG

Charter membership will be limited to a certain number of hotels and restaurants in each city (approximately 5 of each). Additional members may be added to a maximum of ten per city at increased dues. After that, a waiting list will be created.
