New IH&RA CEO Reflects on One Month On the Job!

First of all I would like to express my appreciation to Alain-Philippe Feutré for a seamless “passing of the baton” to allow me to assume the responsibility for the IH&RA while not missing a beat.

He continues to serve us in a number of areas. We all see tremendous opportunities to consolidate our opinions both for and against the voluminous issues that face the hotel and restaurant industry. This is being accomplished through the expansion of our knowledge base with the establishment of:

1. Global Councils in all the specialised areas
2. Youth Councils to deal with the need to connect with our future and
3. Direct individual membership by hotels and restaurants.

We are also creating sponsorable Programs dealing with employee mobility and Youth at Risk.

Some of this will be accomplished by direct participation in the formulation of positions with on-line voting and a new website, soon to be validated with a new site by the end of March.

Special thanks go to the three IH&RA Presidents (President of Honour, Dr. Osmane Aidi; Immediate Past President, Eric Pfeffer and current IH&RA President John Bell) for their generous and continued support of IH&RA.

Never has there been a more important time to control and/or support the pressures caused by globalization.

I and the team at IH&RA look forward to serving the industry, expanding our membership (with your help!) and ensuring that the future IH&RA is supported fairly by the industry that it serves.

See you in Berlin with all this as a Business Plan which our team has worked hard to create.
