| Pro€Invest is an EU-ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) partnership programme developed and undertaken by the European Commission on behalf of the ACP countries. Through Pro€Invest, the EU is keen on building tourism sector partnerships between East African/Indian Ocean companies and European/African businesses. The target countries are Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
The main focus of PROFIT 2007 will be one-to-one business meetings between European and African participants. This event provides a unique opportunity
• to meet the top decision-makers and key actors in the targeted sector
• to anticipate demand in rapidly changing markets
• to identify business and Euro-African co-operation opportunities
• to benefit from preferential access to financial and development institutions (European Investment Bank, CDE, Pro€Invest etc.)
• to benefit from contacts with high-ranking representatives of Ministries and intermediary organisations
For the hospitality community, PROFIT 2007 will enable European and African partners to meet and explore business opportunities with enterprises and entrepreneurs in the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant sector (development, extension and renovation).
After this Regional Investment Conference, partners may apply for a Pro€Invest grant to finance a tailor-made technical assistance targeted to facilitate and speed-up the business development opportunities and/or to improve the firms’ performance.
