
IH&RA's new Secretary, Mr Mohammed Mounir Ben Miled, has a long and distinguished career in hotel development and management
throughout Tunisia. Re-elected several times as President of the Tunisia Hotel Association, he is the chairman of a private hotel management company and was for many years a permanent member of the National Technical committee responsible for delivering the authorisatin for hotel construction in Tunisia. Among his many positions he is co-founder of the National Center of Arbitration and Conciliation of Tunis, a Board Member of INNORPI, the Tunisian National Standards Body and Member for Africa of the World Tourism Organization UNWTO Committee on Tourism Ethics.
Restaurant Representative André Daguin was elected President of UMIH - Union des Métiers et des Industries de l'Hôtellerie - (the French Hotel & Restaurant Association) in 1997. This followed a long and distinguished career in his native Gascony as President of the Gers Hoteliers Association, President of the Employers Confederation , then successively President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the CRITT for the Midi-Pyrénées region. At the national level, he was President of the National Catering Federation (Fédération Nationale de la Restauration Française) 1991-1997, and is currently Vice-President of the Regional Midi-Pyrénées Tourism Committee and a Member of France's National Tourism Committee. He is also the author of numerous books on gastronomy.
